Playgolf, Northwick Park
The Thames Valley region of Crispin & Borst has completed a £3.5 million contract to construct a bespoke urban golfing facility at Northwick Park in Harrow, West London, the first of a new generation of sports facilities.
A six hole signature course has been designed to allow the golfer to use every club in the bag and complete the round within an hour. The course has been inspired by some of the most famous holes in the world and the changes of scenery as you go round the course are quite dramatic.
“You could call it the joy of six: the chance to feel what it is like to play six of the best holes in golf in an hour” The Times
The driving range is a spectacular piece of urban architecture: two tiered and gracefully set out in a curve with 30 bays on each floor. A short game academy called The Zone includes a large putting green and several target greens and has been described as the best short game area in the country.
“There is a driving range and an area to practice your short game so good that it has to be seen to be believed” The Daily Mail
The centre also features a children’s course, the first of its kind, and an Adventure golf course which has been designed along the same lines as the Himalayas, a putting complex at St Andrews which will appeal to non-golfers, beginners and youngsters.
