Royal Mail

The contract covers a 3 year reactive maintenance, planned maintenance and minor project works covering approximately 600 Royal Mail buildings throughout London. This includes work to Post Offices, Delivery Offices, Parcel Force Buildings and Post Office Head Quarters, including their administration offices all within Central and Greater London.

Under the reactive element of the contract, we undertake approx 10,000 orders per annum, all varying in value from a small £20 quick fix, to larger reactive jobs ranging from £1k up to £25k. These are all managed through our dedicated Helpdesk which provides a 24 hour/365 day a year responsive maintenance service operating from our base at Rainham in Essex.

The C&B Helpdesk is managed and maintained by a dedicated team of managers, surveyors and operators, who are all conversant and experienced with MTC’s and have a diverse wealth of knowledge of multiple order buildings and specialist products and materials used therein.

C&B’s Helpdesk was chosen by the Post Office to trial a new system called ‘Real Time Reporting’ in August 2000. The aim of the process was to ensure efficiency in delivering timely attendance and job
closure to site and the monitoring of every order from inception to invoicing, allowing the individual customer to be informed accurately of progress. This process has proved to be very successful and C&B have been able to meet the high performance targets set by the client.

The C&B Helpdesk is further backed up in the field by It’s own directly employed multiskilled workforce and specialist subcontractors, many of whom have been engaged on a long standing basis specifically for the operation of this contract.

Project works have included the refurbishment of the Post Office Head Quarters in Old Street London EC2, the construction of a prototype design post office counter, refurbishment of a former retail unit to create London’s Flag Ship Bureau de Change Trafalgar Square and the internal and external redecorations and repairs of a number of delivery offices and post offices.
