The works comprised the reconfiguration of the building structure to increase the existing vehicle docking facilities with the Royal Mails operations in use 24hours a day. An existing concrete ramp was removed, drainage diverted and a new ramp and retaining wall constructed. 5No new Dock levellers with riser doors were installed and the entrance to the vehicle yard was adapted to include the relocation of the traffic office.
East London
Royal Mails East London Hub was previously used as a sorting office, our works required the complete removal of existing machinery and access walkways and the subsequent substantial repairs to the asphalt flooring.
The existing offices and toilets were altered and refurbished with a new canteen and recreational area provided. 10nr new loading bays were constructed with canopy and docking facilities including specialist hydraulic loading platforms and high speed roller shutter doors. The remaining existing docking facilities were refurbished. Extensive repairs were required to the surrounding infrastructure to accommodate the new function of the building.
